Tokyo (April 11, 2011) - Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that the company has acquired Koneo AB (Koneo), an office and information technology (IT) services company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, through Konica Minolta Business Solutions Sweden AB (KMBSW), an operating subsidiary based in Stockholm, Sweden, of the company.
Koneo, with its main businesses in sales and maintenance services for IT and office printing equipment, IT consulting, and information network management support services, has a significant competitive edge in providing services to the small- and medium-sized businesses. In addition, as the most important channel partner of KMBSW for the sales of its multi-functional peripherals (MFPs*), Koneo delivers unique services that fuse the fields of IT services and document services.
Through this acquisition, KMBSW will further strengthen its position in Sweden, the largest market in Northern Europe, by utilizing Koneo's talented team and advanced know-how in IT services and its vast sales network across the country, expanding and delivering the variety of MFPs, other office print equipment and the menu of related IT services.
In response to the growing needs of the customers for solutions that further improve their efficiency, Konica Minolta has enhanced its efforts, as a stronger provider of values for businesses, to deliver a broader scope of services that integrate IT and document management, including Optimized Print Services that help customers develop a strategy to reduce overall cost and maximize the productivity of office workflow through management of output and document imaging environments.
